Enemy of the People

No Forgiveness
God instructs Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh, a part of the Assyrian Empire, and warn them of their wickedness. Jonah questions why he should warn his enemies and questions God’s intention of protecting them. Despite God’s explanation that warning them could lead to healthier habits and alliances, Jonah refuses to forgive their oppressors and sets off on a boat. A storm ensues, and Jonah is thrown into the sea, where he is swallowed by a huge fish.
